How to write a dating bio that gets matches
Your bio is the first thing people message you about. The best ones are short, specific and give someone an easy way to start a conversation.
-
Be specific, not generic
“I love travel” describes everyone. “Still dreaming about the pastéis de nata in Lisbon” describes you — and gives a match something to ask about.
-
Show, don’t list
Swap a list of adjectives for one small story or detail. Funny, kind and adventurous all show up in how you write.
-
Leave a hook
End with a question or playful challenge so the other person has an easy opener.
-
Keep it short
Two to four sentences is plenty. Long bios get skimmed; short ones get read.
-
Stay positive
Skip the “no drama” and “swipe left if…” lines. Say what you want, not what you don’t.
